What we’re looking for:
MaxMedia is looking for a Lead Software Architect to add to our Creative Technology Team who will lead client-driven projects through the development lifecycle, from conception to maintenance. The ideal candidate is someone who is a proven leader in computer science and software engineering with a mind for software & systems architecture. This position is for an architect & developer with an expert knowledge base and concentration in web technologies.
Who you’ll be working with:
MaxMedia is an innovation agency whose nimble and diverse team of creatives and technologists use empathy and design-thinking to create killer solutions for real problems. We have a killer office in Atlanta’s westside where we keep it casual and bring our dogs to work.
At MaxMedia, we aspire to be the most innovative community in the Southeast.
We believe a love for complex challenges, unbiased empathy for real people, a fearless sharing of ideas, and a selfless assessment of process are the best techniques to consistently exceed client expectations, to improve people's lives, and to build the most rewarding place for problem solvers to work and thrive.
And we believe in progress, not perfection. That whatever challenges we face, putting people first and egos last makes every day more rewarding and productive than the day before.
What you’ll be doing:
Each day, you will build team success by leading creative technology integration on active projects, internal information technology resources, and third-party vendors. You will spearhead project ideation in order to choose and/or recommend proper technologies based on clients’ requirements and design. You will spearhead the definition of software architecture--collaborating to explore existing systems, determine areas of complexity, potential risks to successful implementation, and learn the application capabilities. You will direct development processes through consensus building, regular assessments, and process improvement methodologies. You will be responsible for working collaboratively with the design department to translate designs and style guides into functional user interfaces, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and performance while using programming best practices. You’ll manage contract employees on the technology team, meeting with them to understand and guide their workload prioritization and provide development feedback and instructions. You’ll be responsible for the overall presentation of development deliverables to client and internal teams.
To thrive in this role:
You are a proven leader in creative technology. You’ve demonstrated your achievement with many different technology platforms, tools, and processes used in digital experiences, especially web technologies, SEO, open-source systems, APIs, mobile applications, and integration with proprietary systems. You have expertise and demonstrated experience in systems design, development, implementation, and deployment processes. You’re a master developer with both front-end and back-end expertise. You’re experienced with Linux/Unix shells. You’ve led other developers or creative technologists in a collaborative agency setting, and you have management experience. You have the ability to maintain a clear sense of purpose and priority while executing delivery of multiple projects on tight deadlines. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are an independent thinker and self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively. You have experience working in an agile environment and are adept at communicating professionally with external stakeholders and internal teams. You can show a portfolio of work, discuss goals and roles on projects, and defend development decisions.
You have a polyglot attitude with a right-tool-for-the-job mindset with a strong foundation in web technologies and JavaScript. You have at least Proficient competency with JavaScript ES2019 (or later) for both browsers and Node.js, and you have at least Intermediate competency with the following technologies:
